Cuil fails to impress

Cuil is a recently-launched (July 2008) search engine from some ex-Google employees which claims to be "the world’s biggest search engine." This may be true, but while it does apparently count, size isn't all that matters. The pre-launch hype was carefuly and expertly choreographed and had us all salivating in expectation of something to rival the ubiquitousness of Google.
