Scottish Distillery Unveils Scottish Green Power

Green ScotchRaise a glass to the Rothes consortium of whisky and scotch distillers!

Planning permission has been granted for a biomass-fuelled combined heat and power (CHP) plant to produce up to 7.2 Megawatts of electricity - enough for about 9,000 homes. It's suggested that the power generated will be used to power the plant itself, with the surplus being sold back to the national grid.
