New Website - Vereinigung Burgerliches Bern

Strands Computing last week published the new Vereinigung Burgerliches Bern (VBB) website. Completely rewritten from the ground up using Drupal, the new site allows the members of VBB to manage their own content. Features include a new clean, modern design (by VBB), centralised user management, and a few jQuery snippets.

The site can be found at www.vbbern.ch

A few Details

The site is Drupal 5 with the following contributed modules, among others:

CCK - invaluable and by now practically obligatory in every new Drupal site I build
Webform - for the custom enquiry forms
Localizer - since the site is in the German language
Taxonomy Menu - to allow dynamic menu creation based on categories
Akismet and Captcha - for spam avoidance (although not as effective as it used to be)
Nice Menus - purely for the Administration menus

The site validates1 as strict XHTML and CSS level 2.1

1 The site passes the Markup Validation Service for XHTML and the CSS Validation Service for CSS level 2.1 as defined by the W3C (the World Wide Web Consortium)
